Fossils indicate that lizards have inhabited our planet for about 180 million years, since the time of the dinosaurs. They favor the planet's warmer climate zones, including parts of Colorado. They have long inspired humankind's speculation and superstition, and have played roles in the cultures and religious beliefs of many races, including those of Native Americans. This one was basking in the sun in Mesa County, Colorado.Lightplay Card #37
